The beloved Taste of Montclair Village returns on Tuesday, April 7, from 5–8pm in Oakland’s vibrant Montclair Village district. This lively evening celebration invites guests to sample delicious bites and refreshing libations — including craft beer and artisan wines — at more than 30 local restaurants and businesses.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Montclair Village Association, a nonprofit business improvement district that has proudly served the community for over 75 years.
Ticketed attendees will receive a tasting “Passport” granting access to culinary creations from Montclair’s talented chefs, along with beverage samples from local craft producers. Guests can enjoy their tastings at communal, table-style seating while taking in family-friendly entertainment from the Jazz Education Ensemble, returning this year to provide a festive soundtrack for the evening. Their performance brings together professional jazz musicians and school-age performers for a distinctive mentorship experience.
The event offers fun for all ages. Kids can enjoy crafts, face painting, balloons, and more, while strolling guests will discover merchant-hosted activities throughout the district, including special promotions, giveaways, and opportunities to meet the business owners and staff who make Montclair unique. Local leaders and representatives from the Montclair Village Association will also be onsite to welcome attendees and celebrate the community.

The MVA is a nonprofit 501(c)3 Business Improvement District (BID) with a mission to: increase the safety of Montclair, Oakland; support Montclair’s small businesses and merchants; expand opportunities for patronage and visitorship in Montclair; develop youth training programs for Oakland high school students and college interns seeking professional work experiences; expand artist representation in unused urban spaces; catalyze Montclair’s social capital and placemaking for business improvement; and ensure the enjoyment and livability of downtown Montclair for all Bay Area visitors and residents.
