About this Event

We invite you to Dinnerfour8’s Dinner & Jazz, a special dining and cultural experience in our family home. Experience the rich and diverse culture through an exploration of the arts. Rooted in love, inspiration, and aspiration, Dinnerfour8 delivers a far-from-ordinary immersive private pop-up dining experience in Historic Oak Cliff. You’ll encounter an eclectic space filled with art, musicians, savory cuisine, and hospitality at the highest level.

This will be an intimate dining experience exploring the Tastes of Juneteenth. Included is the specially curated menu from Author and Historian, Deah Berry Mitchell’s book, "Cornbread to Collard Greens: How West African Cuisine and Slavery Influenced Soul Food", presented in four courses and a small talk from the author. Both the traditional and contemporary food culture of modern African-Americans compared with the typical American diet is highly influenced by Africans, in particular West Africans. The food tells a rich and poignant story of both endurance and adaptability during hard circumstances. As we celebrate and commemorate Juneteenth, we'll elevate the cuisine by ways of deconstruction, overlapping flavors, and presentation. Offerings of House Red and White Wines, Arnold Palmers, and Sweet Tea will be available.

The featured musical Artist is Jazz Bassist, Guillermo Lopez.

Guillermo López is a 22-year-old American jazz bassist, composer, and arranger currently located in the DFW area, originally born and raised in El Paso, Texas.
