Claire Saffitz is a cookbook author, video host, and recipe developer. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she graduated from Harvard University in 2009, then attended culinary school at Ferrandi Paris, and earned a Master's degree in History from McGill University in 2013. Claire's first cookbook, Dessert Person, won the IACP Julia Child First Cookbook Award in 2020. Her second book, What's For Dessert, published in 2022, was nominated for a James Beard Award. Previously, Claire was Senior Food Editor at Bon Appétit magazine where she hosted the series Gourmet Makes on the Bon Appétit YouTube channel. She is currently a contributor to NYT Cooking and has her own YouTube channel called Dessert Person with 1.5 million subscribers. Claire is working on a third cookbook, which will be out in 2027.
Matt Rodbard is a writer, editor, and author of food and culture books with more than two decades of experience working in television, magazines, book publishing, and online media. He’s the author of Koreaworld: A Cookbook, named 2025 IACP Cookbook of Year and nominated for a 2025 James Beard Award, Koreatown: A Cookbook, a New York Times Bestseller, and Food IQ, a Publishers Weekly Bestseller and winner of a 2023 IACP Cookbook Award. He’s the Founding Editor of online food and culture magazine TASTE, winner of three James Beard Awards.
