Grab your friends and get ready to ride through the streets of our nation's capital on Sunday, October 6th, as we roll in the new year with a Taschlich Ride. Join Rabbi Amalia from Gather DC for tashlich, a cathartic tradition for the Jewish New Year in which we toss pieces of old bread into a body of water to symbolically cast away regrets and disappointments from the past year. (Bread will be provided at the site)When: Sunday, October 6th. Meet at 4:15 with wheels up at 4:30. The Tashlich ceremony will start at 5:30.
Where: Gather at Chinatown Park, at the corner of 6th and I street NW. Catty corner to the synagogue. Final route and destination will be shared with registrants 2 days before the event.
Don't own a bike? No Problem! The start and end points are near multiple Cap Bikeshare docks, and we'll make sure you won't break the 30 minute limit.
---
This slow, social ride for Generations Z, Y, and X is suitable for cyclists of all levels. It's the perfect way to make new friends, get comfortable with city riding, find new biking buddies -- or just to "do Jewish" in a whole new way.
We'll explore about 5ish miles of DC -- parts you may not see every day (or you'll see them in a whole new way).
And as always, it's FREE! (Whoop!)
