During each Primary season, the TCRA hosts an endorsing convention for the purpose of vetting candidates running in contested Republican Primary races. TCRA vets and endorses candidates in Tarrant County races.
To earn an endorsement, a candidate must secure votes from 2/3 of the membership. While this threshold is difficult to attain, candidates seeking consideration recognize that a TCRA endorsement provides a distinction to their candidacy as a conservative Republican, and is trusted by Republican voters seeking to support conservatives in the Primary.
