Learn to interpret tarot symbols and correspondences to provide clarity to life’s issues or events. Four class series.
About this Event

Tarot has long been a valuable means of divination, and self-exploration. Interpreting its’ symbols and correspondences can provide clarity to life’s issues or events. Tarot is considered by many to be a storehouse of wisdom that reveals the true nature of the universe.

This four-part series will lay a foundation for understanding the tarot and offer instruction on how to give a tarot reading. Each class will have a 2-hour period of instruction and discussion, followed by an optional half hour in which to practice reading various spreads.

Cost: $100 for the four-part series.

Class One (May 10 ):

What exactly is a tarot deck, and how does it differ from other divination tools? What are some misconceptions and myths about the cards?

In the first class we will cover:

  • structure of the tarot
  • basics of choosing a deck
  • explore the symbolism in a variety of decks
  • discuss reversals
  • in-depth look at the major arcana cards 0-XI

The first spread we will throw and interpret will be a simple yes or no query.

Class Two (May 17):

Our exploration of the major arcana will continue with a study of cards XII – **.

The class will discuss:

  • archetypes
  • color symbolism
  • and astrological correspondences.

We will also explore techniques to prepare for a reading and enhance intuition. The spread we will learn and interpret tonight is The Celtic Cross.

Class Three (May 24):

This class will study the numbered cards of minor arcana.

As an aid to understanding the symbolism of the minor arcana, we will learn about the four elements and numerology as they relate to the cards. The spread we will learn and interpret in this class will be The Astrological Spread.

Class Four (May 31):

Our final class will concentrate on the court cards of the minor arcana.

There will also be a discussion of tarot’s correspondence with the Kabbalah and the ethics and pitfalls of doing readings. The spreads we will explore this week are the seven-card spread, and the spread of the year.
