They're here, and we're going to find them! Come join the Mile High Bug Club as we search for the biggest spider in the Pikes Peak Region, the Texas Brown Tarantula (Aphonopelma hentzi).These arachnids are commonly found further south and east of Colorado Springs. However, there have been a few reports of them being seen within Cheyenne Mountain State Park and we want to find them for ourselves! Tarantula hunts at the park are always exciting, because we always find something new and interesting! So, even if we do not find a Texas Brown, we're sure to see some other fascinating creatures.
NOTE: this program is intended for ages 10+. Please dress accordingly to the weather and for hiking.
