Med rødder i Bristols rige musikmiljø og inspiration fra jazz, trip hop og minimalisme skaber Tara Clerkin Trio charmerende, halvpsykedeliske sange med grønligt skær og nik til Arthur Russell, Broadcast og Portishead. Efter en udsolgt koncert på Copenhagen Distillery præsenteret af ALICE i 2024 vender den fremragende trio nu tilbage til København med nyt album i bagagen. Det unge München-baserede kollektiv plainhead åbner aftenen. Koncerterne er præsenteret i samarbejde med Out of Office.

Tara Clerkin Trio består af Tara Clerkin, Pat Benjamin og Sunny Joe Paradisos – tre musikere, der hver især har sat deres præg på en række kultbands i Bristol, inden de fandt sammen i denne særegne konstellation. Siden de første udgivelser på det toneangivende London-label World of Echo har trioen udviklet et umiskendeligt udtryk, hvor dub, improvisation, jazz og skæve popsange mødes i en elskelig helhed.
Med det nye album “Somewhere Good” (World of Echo, 2026) leverer Tara Clerkin Trio deres mest ambitiøse og helstøbte værk til dato. Albummet udfolder sig som et tåget landskab af dronende harmonium, kontrabas, akustisk guitar, blæsere og tangenter, hvor kompositionerne får lov til at ånde og vokse i deres eget tempo. Trioens musik har ofte trukket sammenligninger til kunstnere som Arthur Russell, Broadcast og Portishead, men deres lyd er først og fremmest deres egen: subtil, detaljerig og fuld af stille opdagelser. Da Tara Clerkin Trio gæstede Copenhagen Distillery i 2024 til en udsolgt koncert præsenteret af ALICE, efterlod de et stærkt indtryk. Derfor glæder vi os til igen at byde dem velkommen, når de indtager ALICE i september.

Det unge München-baserede projekt plainhead er bygget op omkring guitar, klarinet, melodica, skrøbelige sample-loops og en bemærkelsesværdig sans for skæve popsange og shoegaze. Med tråde til kunstnere som Yo La Tengo og The Notwist skaber plainhead musik, der konstant balancerer mellem det intime og det uforudsigelige. Bandet er en del af DIY-miljøet omkring pladeselskabet new basement, hvor også deres fremragende album “You Are More Than A Thousand Words” udkom sidste år. plainhead åbner aftenen for Tara Clerkin Trio.

After a sold-out concert at Copenhagen Distillery presented by ALICE in 2024, the outstanding trio now returns to Copenhagen with a new album in tow. The young Munich-based collective plainhead will open the evening. The concerts are presented in collaboration with Out of Office.
Tara Clerkin Trio consists of Tara Clerkin, Pat Benjamin, and Sunny Joe Paradisos—three musicians who each made their mark on a range of cult bands in Bristol before coming together in this distinctive formation. Since their first releases on the influential London label World of Echo, the trio has developed an unmistakable sound where dub, improvisation, jazz, and skewed pop songs meet in an affectionate whole.
With the new album “Somewhere Good” (World of Echo, 2026), Tara Clerkin Trio deliver their most ambitious and cohesive work to date. The album unfolds like a hazy landscape of droning harmonium, double bass, acoustic guitar, brass, and keys, allowing the compositions to breathe and grow at their own pace. The trio’s music has often drawn comparisons to artists such as Arthur Russell, Broadcast, and Portishead, but their sound is above all their own: subtle, detailed, and full of quiet discoveries. When Tara Clerkin Trio performed at Copenhagen Distillery in 2024 to a sold-out audience presented by ALICE, they left a strong impression. We therefore look forward to welcoming them back when they take over ALICE in September.

With connections to artists such as Yo La Tengo and The Notwist, plainhead creates music that constantly balances between the intimate and the unpredictable. The band is part of the DIY scene surrounding the label new basement, where their excellent album “You Are More Than A Thousand Words” was released last year. plainhead will open the evening for Tara Clerkin Trio.
