In collaboration with Lucky Tree:Explore a local space filled with art, coffee, and sweets to learn something new from an old tradition!
You will spend your evening with Abby Redus, a passionate local weaver and detail-oriented textile designer with the goal of breaking down the barrier between people and the origin of their clothing and soft goods.
In this workshop you will learn the art of tapestry weaving, creating your very own tapestry by hand in an easy-to-use wood frame. There will be an array of thread colors to mix into your creation and, with guidance from Abby, you’ll design your own tapestry pattern! By the end, Abby will demonstrate how to take your completed work out of the frame so you can take it home.
We will host this experience at the Lucky Tree coffee shop: a local small business run by twin sisters Ashley and Amanda. They are champions of the local art scene, adorning their already-beautiful space with work from more than 50 local artists. What’s more, they bake delicious and healthy sweet treats that you’ll have a chance to try.
*Ticket includes a tapestry to take home and a drink of your choosing from Lucky Tree to enjoy during the workshop.
