About this Event
T.A.P.E. presents Home Video Day - Music Edition
Co-Presented with 7th House Screenings, The Philosophical Research Society, and Hollywood Entertainment.
Join us for Home Video Day 2025 celebrating music culture on video and audio tape. A free, hands-on event dedicated to the personal and powerful legacy of home media. From childhood recitals to underground concerts or digital TikTok reels, home video and audio recordings have long preserved the stories that are critical to our personal, familial, and community histories. This year’s edition highlights music culture on tape in a tribute to how video and audio tape capture the soundtracks of our lives.
Home video is one of the true revolutions in how people could record their own lives. But today, we are often locked out of the playback equipment needed to watch and listen to this media. T.A.P.E. (Teach Archive Preserve Exhibit) is an organization dedicated to access to playback equipment for the public and committed to popular preservation education. Home Video Day is a day for gathering, advocacy, and access open to all!
