The revolutionary figure of bass music who embodies the concept of “Old School × New Wave,” Tape B is coming to Beginning Tokyo for his long-awaited Japan debut. Born in Turkey and now based in the U.S., Tape B is a bass music producer whose name pays homage to the golden era of hip-hop mixtape culture, when DJs and MCs recorded their sets on cassette tapes and shared them on the streets. His sound fuses the grooves and soulful sampling of 90s–2000s hip-hop with the powerful low-end of modern dubstep and bass music. As he describes it — “Old School × New School” — his music creates a unique world where nostalgia and innovation coexist. With releases on Deadbeats, WAKAAN, Subsidia, and Circus, Tape B has been steadily building momentum across the scene. In 2024, he teamed up with Mersiv on “Trippy Land,” featuring hip-hop legend Juicy J (Three 6 Mafia) — a defining collaboration that bridged his Southern hip-hop roots with the modern bass sound he is known for today. In January 2026, his ground-breaking sound finally arrives in Japan.
