E ach workshop lasts 90mins, and is intended for adult tap students of all levels--though ideally you will already have some tap experience, as the classes would be difficult for complete beginners.
WORKSHOPS:
March 24th: 'Top Hat' with Colleen Werle
Embrace old Hollywood glitz and glamour in this musical theatre tap workshop, inspired by the classic film Top Hat! Channel your inner Fred Astaire or Ginger Rogers, as we dance along to the luscious tunes of Irving Berlin. This mixed-level 90-minute workshop will include a warm up and choreography, with variations to suit beginner to intermediate tap dancers. All for the craic! (Note: Ideally you will already have some tap experience, as the workshop would be difficult for complete beginners.)
March 31st: Intro to Tap Improvisation & Jam! with Colleen Werle
Improvisation is an important part of tap dance culture, community and innovation--but can be intimidating if you've never done it before! In this workshop we'll explore different improvisational games and rhythmic exercises, and create our own tap steps and combinations -- all with a playful, supportive group approach. We'll end the session with a tap jam circle, where all are invited to take turns improvising to the music while cheering each other on. All levels welcome!
FAQs
What ages are welcome in class?
Tap classes are intended for ages 18+ . I often have a wide age range in my classes, with students in their teens up to their 60s!
What are my transport options for getting to and from the class?
Liffey Trust Studios is 3min walk from the Luas Red Line (The Point) and accessible via numerous Dublin Bus routes.
Parking: Limited street parking (free after 7pm), or nearby at The Point Square Car Park (paid)
Do I need my own tap shoes? What should I wear to class?
Students are expected to buy their own tap shoes, a basic pair costs about €35. If you would like to try a few classes before investing in tap shoes, I recommend wearing shoes with a smooth, non-rubbery sole, that has a separate heel and toe (like brogues, not flats). Dress comfortably, you'll work up a sweat! And bring a water bottle!
How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Contact dance instructor Colleen by phone at 086-451-5833, or by email at [email protected]
I booked into the class, but now I can't go! Can I get a refund?
Fees are fully refundable up until 23 March 2026.
I booked into the wrong class! What should I do?
Email Colleen at [email protected] and specify which class you actually want, and she will transfer your booking, provided the class is not full.
