Showcasing five newly discovered works of Sam Ntiro and perspectives of contemporary artists, academics and gallery founders in East Africa.
About this Event

We are pleased to bring together some of the most exciting voices shaping the visual arts across Tanzania, East Africa and the diaspora for a conversation that explores the evolving landscape of art in the region. In conversation will be:

Dr Kate Cowcher from St Andrews, expert on the art of the renowned Tanzanian artist, Sam Ntiro, celebrated painter known for his evocative depictions of East African life and culture. Dr Kate will also speak to five paintings of John Ntiro that were recently discovered in the Tanzania High Commission in London.


Natasha Sweeting Contemporary artist whose work explores identity, memory, and the Caribbean–African visual dialogue. Natasha's expressive dot painting inspired by Tanzanian indigenous art and her bold paintings will be on display and available for purchase.


Lorna Mashiba, Founder of Rangi Gallery, championing emerging African artists and bold new voices.
