We are excited to present Virginia Vasconi and David Palo from Buenos Aires on their first tour together.Virginia Vasconi brought us the unsurpassed musical authority with Julio Balmaceda for years. After working with many notable dancers, she struck a new partnership with David Palo.
David Palo is a multifaceted artist and has delved into social and stage tango for over 20 years. He is at the avant-garde in stage tango as well as traditional salon tango.
The weekend workshops:
Friday (4/18) 7:30 - 9pm
Building Sequences and Improvisation Lab
- Deconstruct the basic elements of Tango to construct sequential structures.
- Engage in an improvisation laboratory to enhance creativity.
Saturday (4/19)
12:30 - 1:45pm
Dynamic Movement and Structural Modification
- Learn to reformulate and modify base structures with dynamic movements.
2 - 3:15pm
Vals Aesthetics and Weight Balance
- Focus on movements integral to the aesthetic composition of Vals.
- Balance weight through exercises, constructing movements, and adjusting embraces for desired effects.
Sunday (4/20)
12:30 - 1:45pm
Rhythmic Mastery in 4/4 Time
- Understand rhythmic possibilities within 4/4 time.
- Develop a keen sense of timing through exercises in coordination and combination.
2 - 3:15pm
Milonga Magic: Rhythmic Possibilities and Playful Figures
- Explore the most utilized movements in milonga.
- Work on the rhythmic possibilities in milonga.
- Discover playful figures that add joy and excitement to your dance.
All workshops will be held at Dance Underground: 340 15th Ave E, Seattle
Each class taken individually: $40
Day pass (2 classes, Saturday or Sunday): $75
4 class pass (Saturday and Sunday): $145
Full pass (5 classes, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday): $175

Virginia and David are available for privates from 4/17 (Thursday) - 4/23 (Wednesday)
