BIO
Jeremias Fors is a Buenos Aires–born tango dancer, choreographer, teacher, and founder of Miami Tango Show, currently based in the United States. Throughout his career, he has performed and choreographed in acclaimed productions across North America, including Maria de Buenos Aires with the San Antonio Opera, Atlanta Opera, New York City Opera, New Orleans Opera, Nashville Opera, and Florida Grand Opera. His extensive stage credits also include Forever Tango, Black & White: A Theatrical Tango Production, La Cumparsita, Homenaje a Mariano Mores, La Magia del Tango, Carmen de Buenos Aires, This Is Tango Now – Identidad, Masters of Tango, Amor de Tango, and Tango Lovers, among many others.
Jeremias has appeared on major television programs including Telemundo’s Miss Universe Special, Un Nuevo Día, and Siempre Niños, as well as WFAA’s Good Morning Texas. He also served as the tango choreographer for Telemundo’s dance competition series Así Se Baila. His work has been praised by leading media outlets such as the Washington Post, Miami Herald, Miami New Times, Broadway World, Edge Media Network, and Argentina’s CARAS Magazine. His performances in Florida Grand Opera’s Maria de Buenos Aires and Robert Rodriguez’s Tango were recognized among South Florida Classical Review’s “Top 10 Performances of 2013.”
An accomplished educator, Fors has developed a progressive teaching methodology that incorporates the full vocabulary of Argentine tango. Fluent in both English and Spanish, he has taught and performed at prominent festivals including the International Tango Summit, NYC Spring Tango Weekend, Alegría Mini Tango Festival, Florida Tango Encounter, Boulder Tango Festival, Boston Tango Festival, and Miami Tango Fantasy Festival, in addition to conducting workshops throughout the United States, Europe, the U.K. and Argentina.
In 2013, Jeremias co-founded and directed his Argentine Tango School in Miami. In recognition of his contributions to preserving and promoting Argentine tango in South Florida, he received an official proclamation from Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez honoring his impact on the region’s cultural and artistic community..
