A very warm welcome to our seminars with special guest VALENCIA BATIUK from Buenos Aires! For those of you who do not know Valencia already, she is one of the great Maestras of Tango with tons of valuable knowledge! Don´t miss the opportunity to study with her!
In cooperation with Tango in Salzburg, we are happy to welcome dancers from close and far who want to deep dive into growing their Tango.

Seminar A (Friday, 22nd Nov. 17:45- 21:00)
1.⁠ ⁠Walk and Ochos: (Individual technique for both roles)
Organization of the body: alignment, balance, weight, pushes.
The transition of the steps, the movement of the spiral, moving from top to bottom or from bottom to top: pivots & torsions
(BOOKABLE for SINGLE dancers!)
2.⁠ ⁠Walking into the Ochos: (COUPLES)
Transitions between the walk and the ochos through different combinations (parallel & cross system, moving in the same and opposite directions

Seminar B (Saturday, 23rd Nov. 11:00-15:00)
1.⁠ ⁠From Ochos into Turns:
Building the turn step by step. How and when to start and finish a turn. Moving in curves. Walking around the centre for both roles
2.⁠ ⁠From Ochos into Sacadas:
Difference of moving with or against directions. Who is turning around whom. Control of the movement path from contact and communication in the embrace. Playing with rewinding the movement

Seminar C (Sunday, 24th Nov. 10:00-14:00)
1.⁠ ⁠Walking the Turns:
Sacadas in forward, side and back steps of the turns or walking in circles, walking the lines
2. Using Boleos to change the direction of Turns:
The rebound of the free leg and the relationship between the work of the standing leg and the free leg. Weight, looseness and availability of the free leg.

Seminar A (Freitag, 22. November, 17:45-21:00)
1. Gehen und Ochos: (Individuelle Technik für beide Rollen)
Organisation des Körpers: Ausrichtung, Balance, Gewicht, Impulse. Übergang der Schritte, Bewegung der Spirale, von oben nach unten oder von unten nach oben: Pivots und Drehungen.
(BUCHBAR für EINZELNE Teilnehmende!)
2. Gehen in die Ochos: (PAARE)
Übergänge zwischen dem Gehen und den Ochos durch verschiedene Kombinationen (Parallel- & Kreuzsystem, Bewegung in gleiche und entgegengesetzte Richtungen).

Seminar B (Samstag, 23. November, 11:00-15:00)
1. Von Ochos zu Drehungen:
Aufbau der Drehung Schritt für Schritt. Wie und wann beginnt und endet man eine Drehung? Bewegung in Kurven. Um das Zentrum laufen für beide Rollen.
2. Von Ochos zu Sacadas:
Unterschiedliche Bewegungen mit oder gegen die Richtung. Wer dreht sich um wen? Kontrolle des Bewegungswegs durch Kontakt und Kommunikation in der Umarmung. Spielen mit dem Zurückspulen der Bewegung.

Seminar C (Sonntag, 24. November, 10:00-14:00)
1. Gehen in Drehungen:
Sacadas in Vorwärts-, Seiten- und Rückwärtsschritten bei Drehungen oder Kreislaufen, Linienlaufen.
2. Einsatz von Boleos zur Richtungsänderung bei Drehungen:
Der Schwung des freien Beins und die Beziehung zwischen der Arbeit des Standbeins und des freien Beins. Gewicht, Lockerheit und Beweglichkeit des freien Beins.

Thema: Kreisende Bewegungen in der Tanzrichtung.

Valencia Batiuk (Buenos Aires) & Angelika Thiele (D)
Valencia ist Tänzerin mit Ausbildung in zeitgenössischem Tanz und Tango. Seit 1994 unterrichtet sie in renommierten Milongas in Buenos Aires und leitet ihre eigene Milonga El Motivo Tango. Sie tanzt(e) und unterrichtet(e) mit namhaften Tänzern und in unabhängigen zeitgenössischen Tanzkompanien und wirkte an Filmen mit. Valencia trat in zahlreichen Theatern und internationalen Tanzfestivals auf.
Angelika ist zeitgenössische Tänzerin und Performerin. Sie arbeitete international und entdeckte Tango durch die Arbeit mit der Choreographin Ana Mondini am Staatstheater Kassel. Nach intensiver Weiterbildung (AR/EU) begann sie 2014 mit Giorgos Protopappas gemeinsam zu tanzen und zu unterrichten. Angelika hat einen MFA in Performing Arts der Universität Göteborg.
