Welcome dancers to OmCulture's latest offering, 'Shall We Dance?' This dance is for all people who LOVE to dance! The dance is based on partner 'frame' dancing, but improvised 'fusion' dancing is also welcomed! Every dance starts with a half-hour 'ice-breaker' lesson with one of our DJ/instructors. The lessons will focus on different dance genres or moves each week, so if you're a person who loves to learn about dance this is for you!For this week's dance we have a very special instructor and DJ, the fabulous Michelle Badion! Most of you know Michelle as a Tango instructor, but did you know that before tango, Michelle was teaching salsa, swing and many other partner format dances?
With the recent success of our 1st Friday Alt Tango dances, we are now looking at having our 3rd Sunday dance be focused on introducing tango into other partner frame dances like swing, thus the trial name 'Swango' Our intent is to get folks who have little or no tango background to learn some basic tango moves to incorporate into all their other dances. Michelle is an absolute master at teaching this and has a wide assortment of music that can be danced to with swing-based dance styles AND tango!
Come in with an open mind and a playful heart as we delve into the world of 'Swango'!
OmCulture provides a nice assortment of snacks and an open wine bar, all included in the entry fee.
Cost: $20 cash or venmo (we often do self service at the door, so get comfortable with being trusted implicitly!) Also, you can pay less if you are on a tight budget.
