Tango Dominguero de Buenos Aires aims to recreate the style of the first tango ensembles of the early 20th century by offering a wide repertoire of tangos, milongas and waltzes.
The timbre and color of its three instruments - flute, bandoneon and guitar - take us to the source, to the very heart of the beginning of the history of tango. Historians date the creation of tango to before 1880. It was a period of European immigration to Argentina. It was this mixture of diverse origins that gave birth to tango music. Later came the bandoneon, which forever changed the face of tango with the fame that still surrounds it today. This era is known as La Guardia Vieja (The Old Guard).
Musicians Martin López Muro on guitar, Alejandro Beresi on flute, and Pato Lorente on bandoneon are on their first Canadian tour. Buenos Aires singer María Luz Seferiades is the guest artist to perform the tango-chanson. The dance will be performed by Argentine choreographer Mara Graham, and the dancer Elías Navas.

Francais: Tango Dominguero de Buenos Aires vise à recréer le style des premiers ensembles de tango du début du 20e siècle en proposant un large répertoire de tangos, milongas et valses.
Le timbre et la couleur propres à ses trois instruments - flûte, bandonéon et guitare - nous amènent à la source, au cœur même du début de l'histoire du tango. Les historiens situent la date de la création du tango avant 1880. C'est une période d'immigration européenne en Argentine. C'est ce mélange d'origines diverses qui a donné naissance à la musique de tango. Plus tard arriva le bandonéon, qui changea à jamais le visage du tango avec la renommée qui l’entoure encore aujourd’hui. Cette époque est connue comme La Guardia Vieja (La vielle Garde).
Les musiciens Martin López Muro à la guitare, Alejandro Beresi à la flûte et Pato Lorente au bandonéon feront leur première tournée canadienne. La chanteuse de Buenos Aires María Luz Seferiades est l'artiste invitée pour interpréter le tango-chanson. La danse sera interprétée par la chorégraphe argentine Mara Graham et du danseur Elías Navas.
