"Tango and Beyond”, by Alexandra Marie, lyric soprano, features musical works that highlight a genre that has captivated composers with its sensuous style and music throughout the 20th Century. “Tango and Beyond” will bring a classical flavor to the Argentine tango style and its connection to other genres. From tango master’s like Carlos Gardel and Le Pera favorites "El Dia que me Quieras", "Mi Buenos Aires Querido" during the golden era of tango, to Piazzolla’s Nuevo Tango with works like "Maria de Buenos Aires". Together with Alexandra pianist Paul Schawrzt, from Florida Grand Opera, Argentine bandoneonist Laura Cadabon and tango dancers German and Rocio Felipeli. This event is possible thanks to Alexandra Marie's 2023 Artist Support Grant, Broward Cultural Division @browardarts.
