About this Event
Welcome to the Tanabata Workshop!
Come join the Japan-America Association of SC at the Greenville Center for Creative Arts for a fun afternoon of learning and creativity led by Japan Outreach Initiative Coordinator, Miku Kubota. Our workshop will teach you all about the traditional Japanese festival of Tanabata, where people write wishes on colorful strips of paper and hang them on bamboo branches.
During the workshop, you'll have the chance to make your own tanzaku (wishing strips) and decorate them with beautiful designs for your personal wishing tree. Learn about the legend of Orihime and Hikoboshi, the star-crossed lovers celebrated during Tanabata, and immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of Japan.
Don't miss this opportunity to experience a unique and meaningful tradition. Join us at the Tanabata Workshop and let your creativity shine!
