Join us on Saturday, Feb 1 at 1 PM in the Koret Auditorium at the de Young Museum for an afternoon that promises to be both enlightening and inspiring!Dive into the vibrant world of 1920s and 1930s women's fashion as we explore how the iconic artist Tamara de Lempicka interpreted and influenced this dazzling era. Join distinguished speakers, exhibition curator Furio Rinaldi from the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts, and Laura Camerlengo, Curator of Costumes and Textiles, will illuminate how de Lempicka meticulously crafted her personal image, showcasing exquisite haute couture from the finest French couturiers.
We invite everyone to embrace the spirit of the Roaring Twenties and Thirties (or Forties)—come dressed in your best vintage attire or inspired interpretations! Let’s create a stunning visual tapestry that celebrates this extraordinary time in fashion.

Retrospective Tamara de Lempicka—the first exhibition in the United States dedicated to the artist’s full oeuvre—will reveal a new perspective on her life and design practice. In addition to her celebrated portraits, the more than 150 works on view will also include a number of rarely seen drawings, experimental still lifes from Lempicka’s early Parisian years, melancholic domestic interiors, as well as a selection of Art Deco objects, sculptures and dresses from the Fine Arts Museums’ collection
