Tallgrass: The Des Moines Festival of Ideas 2027

The fifth annual Des Moines Festival of Ideas, featuring leading journalists, philosophers, artists, and normal people.
About this Event

We are living in a time of rapid and incomprehensible change. Tech leaders are warning us of possible extinction events. Education, relationships, work, even faith are being affected by the widespread adoption of "artificially intelligent" tools.

It's time to take a breath, slow down, and consider what makes a human a human. Only when we discuss and explore this question together do we stand a chance of retaining a future worthy of the human person.

Join us the first weekend of August 2027 to discuss with leading scientists, philosophers, writers and more.

Featuring

Ruxandra Teslo, Editor at Works in Progress Magazine and Geneticist

Richard Kim, Philosopher at Loyola University Chicago

And much more!
