Talley Up! has been stirring up their New Orleans funk gumbo at venues all over the Bay Area for the last 11 years including Terrapin Crossroads (8x), Sweetwater Music Hall (3x), Fairfax Festival (2x), Creek Park Amphitheatre (3x) and this year will be headlining Mill Valley's Homestead Valley Music Festival on Aug. 24th. Band leader Jim Talley has performed with Bob Weir, Eric McFadden, Mark Karan, Barry Sless, Dan Hicks, Pamela Parker and many more and his groups have played even more of the stellar Bay Area venues including the Warfield, Great American Music Hall, Avalon Ballroom, Haight St. Faire, Ashkenaz and many others. Guitarist Tom Finch has played in Big Brother & the Holding Co. for over 20 years and brings his maestro touch to countless other groups. Bassist Jen Rund leads her group Jenerator and has played with many top Bay Area artists including Stu Allen, Lebo, the Real Sarahs and Jonny Mojo. Multi-instrumentalist Jeff Hobbs plays all over the West Coast with many fine artists and drummer Dave Rokeach has worked with such legends as Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Taj Mahal, Dr. John, Charlie Musselwhite, Stanley Clarke and many more.Together they produce Talley Up!'s unique "swampedelic" funk sound: a synthesis of deep dish funk grooves and psychedelic jazzy improvisation that fills dance floors every time!
