Taller de Plática y Puntadas – Spanish Language Embroidery Workshop
About this Event
This beginner embroidery class doubles as a low-stress entry point for Spanish conversation practice. Participants choose between two paloma patterns – pigeon or dove – and learn the basics of hand embroidery while hitting on hot topics like why does Spanish only have 1 word for 2 birds that couldn't be more different??
Stitch instructor Jean Ogilvie leverages her background as a Spanish tutor and translator to foster an environment where speakers of all levels feel comfortable exercising their skills. Workshop includes: all materials to stitch the designs, a basic glossary of embroidery terms in Spanish, and a safe space to ask questions and converse for the length of the class.
