For parents, one of the most challenging questions is often,
“How do I talk to my kids about this?”
In this special Understand & Empower program, counselor and
cancer survivor Heather White Brighton moderates an honest
conversation with parents who have walked this journey
themselves. Together, they will explore how to begin the conversation, how to adapt communication for different ages, and how those conversations continue long after treatment ends.
Whether you are newly diagnosed, in treatment, or navigating survivorship, this program offers reassurance, real-life perspective, and practical guidance to help families move forward with honesty and care.
Open to adults of any age in the Flint Hills region affected by cancer. No registration necessary. Visit www.meadowlark.org to learn more.
This event is free to attend. Please call (785) 323-3878 with questions.
Understand & Empower is a monthly education series designed to inform, encourage, and connect adults affected by cancer. Each session explores a new topic—such as treatment side effects, emotional wellness, nutrition, communication, caregiving, self-care, and more
