TALKING MATTERS (LIVE at the Palmerston Library Theatre)

Talking Matters tells the story of David and Inga, two elderly residents in a long-term care home. Inspired by research, the play reveals their struggles with language and memory and their longing for respect and dignity.  When an experienced head nurse is charged with implementing yet another "new" policy, a young and quirky volunteer helps turn things around, with unexpected results.

Moving Scenes is the principal outreach program for the not-for-profit corporation Act 2 Studio Works Inc., operating as act2studioWORKS. We educate, entertain, and raise funds for our operations. We develop and present theatrical projects that increase awareness and challenge stereotypes about aging, health, and other social issues. Simultaneously, we nurture our members’ creativity and offer opportunities to develop their skills in the dramatic arts.

All of our Moving Scenes productions are research-based. Every Moving Scenes show on living with dementia is followed by an audience feedback session, which is co-facilitated by an authority on dementia care. These sessions are designed to help audience members get advice, share experiences, and learn that they are not alone in dealing with the issues that affect them and their loved ones.

Please join us for this LIVE and IN-PERSON presentation of Talking Matters , at the Palmerston Library Theatre, located at 560 Palmerston Avenue, near Bathurst Station.

• this is a LIVE event -- not online
• tickets are priced at $10, with Eventbrite's non-refundable fee added to that amount
• online ticket sales will end at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2022
• if not already sold out, tickets will be available at the door on a CASH ONLY basis
• we encourage you to purchase your tickets in advance, in order to avoid disappointment, as seating is limited
• the running time of the show is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, including an audience feedback session immediately following the performance
• the Palmerston Library Theatre is fully accessible
• the Palmerston Library Theatre does not currently have a mask policy in place; however, out of concern for our patrons, we would encourage you to please wear a mask at all times, while inside the theatre.
