About this Event
On 24 February 2026, we invite you to a special evening marking the 4th anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and reflecting on more than three decades of medical work in the country.
The event features Henry Marsh, CBE, FRCS, who will speak about 34 Years of Brain Surgery in Ukraine — a personal and professional journey shaped by long-term collaboration with Ukrainian neurosurgeons, patients, and institutions.
Henry Marsh is a British neurosurgeon, writer, and one of the pioneers of awake brain surgery. Over his career, he has worked extensively in Ukraine, contributing to the development of neurosurgical practice and training across the country. His work is distinguished not only by clinical innovation, but also by an unusually reflective and ethical approach to medicine, exploring the limits of expertise, responsibility, and human vulnerability.
He is also a bestselling author, best known for his memoir Do No Harm: Stories of Life, Death and Brain Surgery, as well as Admissions: Life as a Brain Surgeon and And Finally: Matters of Life and Death, all of which have been translated into numerous languages and widely acclaimed for their insight into the realities of modern medicine.
The evening will consist of:
- 30-minute talk by Henry Marsh
