Pull up a stool in one of Key West’s most legendary watering holes for Tales from the Chart Room—an intimate storytelling experience set right where so many of the stories began.
Hosted by Carol Shaughnessy, first writer of the Coconut Telegraph and a longtime part of the Margaritaville team, and former partner of Chart Room icon Phil Clark, each 30-minute session features a special guest sharing firsthand stories from the island scene that inspired the music, the lifestyle, and the community.
These are the stories you don’t hear on stage—the moments behind the moments—told by the people who lived them. Through a relaxed, guided conversation, Carol brings out colorful memories, inside perspectives, and personal connections that shaped an era.
There’s no stage and no formal production—just authentic storytelling in a room that holds its own history. The setting is intimate, the conversations are real, and no two sessions are ever quite the same.
Occasionally, the conversation opens up to the room, making each gathering feel spontaneous, personal, and completely unique.
Sessions will also stream live on the Just a Few Friends Facebook page for those with a souvenir charity Event Badge.
