Talent x Place

Omaha has no shortage of smart, capable people, but we lose too many of them just as they’re ready to build their futures. Talent x Place brings our community together to ask a different question: What would it take to make Omaha the place where the next generation chooses to stay, grow, and lead?

Join us on December 2nd from 6-7:30pm at Creighton University’s Harper Center Auditorium to learn the latest research on:

• Why people leave
• What keeps them rooted
• Which strategies have worked in other cities
• How Omaha can apply those strategies now 

While cities across the country face brain drain (the migration of skilled people out of a particular city or country), many have reversed that trend by aligning institutions, investing in people, and creating places where talent can see a future. Through interactive polling and a cross-sector panel discussion, participants will see how planners, educators, business leaders, and economic development professionals each hold part of the solution—and how coordinated action can accelerate progress.

Grounded in the We Make Omaha vision, Talent x Place will build energy, alignment, and shared ownership around making Omaha a place where people want to work, stay, and build their lives. Everyone, from students to CEOs, has a role.

About the Series

Conversations x Place invites national and local thinkers, leaders, and doers to explore the critical role Place plays in building and experiencing a better city. Local panels will share their perspectives on a variety of topics, followed by Q+A with the audience.

Parking Instructions

Parking is available near and around the Mike & Josie Harper Center. Attendees can park in the lot next to the Harper Center, on the top floor of the parking garage on Cass & 20th St, and along Cass St, 20th St, and Burt St. Parking is highlighted in light blue on the map below.
