DAX is simple but not easy - but Visual Calculations is both simple and easy, and can help your visualizations in Power BI if you know about how they work and when you should use them and when not to use them.

In this session I will take you through the basics and then quickly move on to the more advanced functions that will enable you to understand how the functions EXPAND, COLLAPSE, RANK and more can be used to make your DAX at the visual level simpler.

The visual calculations can also be used in conditional formatting to make your visuals dynamic and perhaps limit the need for visual specific measures in your data model.

We will do this through all lot of demos that should inspire you to use them in your own reports - and you might even learn a tip or two about the core visuals.
