Class Description:
Fights frequently go to the ground and, if you do it right, getting there can be more than half the fun. (Students should already be comfortable with falls and rolls.)
About the Instructor:
Mike Lubke is a fight choreographer, instructor, and performer based in St Paul, MN. He is the founder of Art In Arms, LLC which produces longform stage combat courses and independent workshops as well as provides choreography services for stage and film productions. Mike is a founding member, resident fight director, and artistic associate of Six Elements Theatre, where he serves as the co-coordinator for the Brawl of America regional stage combat workshop every May. He is also the Creator and World Fight Director for Combat Chess United. Selected Stage Credits: the world premiere of The Good Fight (Theatre Unbound), the award-winning production of The Beaux’ Stratagem (Theatre in the Round Players), The Continuing Adventures of John Blade, Superspy (Six Elements) as well as over 70 productions for regional theatres including Park Square Theatre, History Theatre, and Children’s Theatre Company. Mike is a proud Certified Teacher and recognized Fight Director with the Society of American Fight Directors, and as of 2022 serves as the Fight Director Representative on the SAFD governing body. www.ArtinArms.org
