On the first Saturday in February, thousands of libraries worldwide celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day by offering free, fun, and fabulous activities for families. Your local library is ideal for children to play, discover, make friends, and have fun.Youth Services is hosting a special scavenger hunt for children.
Get a library card (they’re free!), meet your children’s librarian, and learn more about our early literacy program, 1000 Books Before Kindergarten.
Parkland Community Library is a Family Place Library.
Family Place Libraries are a part of a national library network that supports families with young children. This national initiative strengthens outreach to families with young children, particularly those under 3. While the program aims to engage parents as their children’s first teachers and help them understand the importance of play and learning, we also strive to introduce them to local community resources.
