Have you seen burlesque and always wanted to perform? Come join us for Take It Off! Act Development

Have you always wanted to take it off? Do you take it off every night at home but want to develop more skills or confidence in taking it off? Are you tired of taking it off for your cat and want to start taking it off on stage? Join us for the second class in the Take It Off series.

In this movement-focused class we will do a full-body warm-up and practice the classic burlesque basic movmements. We will then focus on the creation and development of your act. From discussing character, story line, and plot, we will practice developing basic choreography and complete exercises that focus on conveying emotion through movement. If you have an act in progress, we will spend time troubleshooting issues with act creation or workshoping all or a portion of your act. We will also discuss tips and tricks for focusing audience attention, smooth clothing removal, and effective discard.

This three hour course will have you – and your audience – wanting more! Please wear comfortable clothes for moving in. Bring comfortable heels for dancing, if desired, or just bare feet. Bring extra bits of clothing for easy removal, such as shirts, skirts, dress, etc. Bring a notepad and paper if you wish to take notes. Bring refreshment as the venue will not have refreshments available during this class.
