This Take & Make Refreshing Drinks Series/Serie Bebidas Refrescantes, is a three installment craft kit series of favorite simple refreshing drinks among a lot of Latinx people of all ages, in particular, Caribbean Latinx.
Pick up your kits as they become available, at the Adult Services Desk at any White Oak Library District branch while supplies last.

Saturday, June 19th
Malt with Milk/Malta con Leche
Malta con Leche (in some cases evaporated or condensed, and in others both milks mix together) is a favorite drink among a lot of Latinx of all ages. Malta/Malt is a non-alcoholic black-sweet-soda-beer beverage. This delicious, semi-sweet, beverage is all natural and so good for you. It contains energy boosting carbohydrates and protein and can improve brain function because malt is rich in vitamins A, B, D and E.

Panela Water/Agua Panela
Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water” and is a traditional and popular Colombian drink. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane It can be served hot or cold. Aguapanela is used as a base for coffee, hot chocolate and mixed with lime juice as medicine for the flu. Cold Aguapanela with lime juice is great for hot summer days.

Tamarind Juice/Jugo de Tamarindo
Agua de Tamarindo (or tamarind drink) is a Mexican drink made from tamarind, water, and sugar. It's a tart and sweet agua fresca that's balanced with a touch of sugar and some water. You can usually find the drink sold at restaurants, by street vendors, at fairs, and outdoor markets in Mexico and the U.S
