Takbo Para Sa Wika is a free Filipino community fun run in Brisbane celebrating Buwan ng Wika (Filipino Language Month). This August, we come together as one community to move our bodies, honour our language, and show up for each other.
Whether you run, jog, or walk, you belong here.

HOW TO JOIN
This event runs through the South Bank Parkrun, one of Brisbane's most loved free weekly runs.
1️⃣ Register once at parkrun.com.au/southbank , it's free and takes 2 minutes
2️⃣ Download or print your personal barcode
3️⃣ Show up on 1 August in your Filipino colours and run with us!

DRESS CODE
Come dressed in your Filipiniana, barong, or Philippine colours — blue, red, yellow, and white. Let's paint South Bank with Filipino pride!
No costume? No problem. Just come as you are.

IN-KIND DONATIONS
We are collecting VOLUNTARY in-kind donations on the day for Brisbane's homeless community. Think: non-perishable food, toiletries, warm socks or clothing.
This is completely optional. Your presence alone is already an act of bayanihan.

WHY TAKBO PARA SA WIKA?
Every August, the Philippines celebrates Buwan ng Wika — a month dedicated to honouring the Filipino language as a living expression of who we are.
We bring that celebration to Brisbane.
Because our language travels with us. Because movement heals. Because running together reminds us that even far from home, "hindi tayo nag-iisa."
We are not alone.
