During the pandemic Takayoshi Terajima began taking interest in the information presented on the screens of video meetings. Two-dimensional images of people and their personal belongings, things like bookshelves and posters in the background became almost like an extension of the person. The Corona-restrictions were removed and life went back to more real life than digital life, but the video calls with the family in Japan had made Takayoshi Terajima, who lives in Germany, more connected to his roots. As a reflection of his identity he let AI use not only his name and birthday, but also family structure, religion, nationality, and other information to make “self portraits”. The images were then refined with engraving, a traditional technique with a long history, and the result is work with depth in both time, space and emotion.

Under pandemin började Takayoshi Terajima intressera sig för informationen som han såg presenteras på skärmar under olika videomöten. Tvådimensionella bilder av människor och deras personliga tillhörigheter. Saker som bokhyllor och affischer i bakgrunden blev nästan som en förlängning av personen.
Corona-restriktionerna togs bort och vardagen återgick till ett mer verkligt än digitalt liv, men videosamtalen med familjen i Japan hade fört Takayoshi Terajima, som bor i Tyskland, närmare sina rötter. Som en reflektion kring sin identitet lät han AI använda hans namn och födelsedag, och även familjestruktur, religion, nationalitet och annan information för att göra "självporträtt". Bilderna bearbetades sedan med gravyr, en traditionell teknik med lång historia, och resultatet är arbete med djup både i tid, rum och känslomässigt uttryck.
Vernissage: 27e september, 17.00-20.00.
Konstnären närvarar under vernissagen och det kommer då även ges tillfälle att se hur gravyren görs.
