Get ready to experience an unforgettable evening of jazz music as the new trio of Carl Winther, Richard Andersson, and Jeff "Tain" Watts take center stage in a series of electrifying concerts. With their impressive musicianship and unique blend of Danish and American jazz styles this trio is not to be missed.
Danish pianist Carl Winther and bassist Richard Andersson had been collaborating for years, when they decided to team up with American drumming sensation Jeff "Tain" Watts.
“It’s a dream come true and a great honor for the two of us to share the stage with Jeff in this setting.” Says Richard Andersson, who met Watts in a Jazz Workshop in Denmark and later got invited as a substitute in several of Watts’ projects.
The trio's music is a fascinating blend of contemporary jazz with influences from all over the world, drawing from the members' own musical experiences. The result is a sound that reflects their virtuosity, spontaneity, and sheer love of music.
Jeff “Tain Watts is widely known in the jazz world as one of the most influential drummers of his generation. He has played with iconic jazz giants such as George Benson, Harry Connick Jr., McCoy Tyner, and Kenny Garrett. He has released several acclaimed albums and won numerous awards, including three Grammy Awards for his work with the Branford Marsalis Quartet.
Carl Winther is widely regarded as one of the most talented and innovative jazz pianists of his generation and has earned critical acclaim both in Denmark and abroad for his music. He has worked with the likes of Jerry Bergonzi, Billy Hart, Adam Nussbaum and Till Brönner.
Richard Andersson has gained great recognition for his work as a composer and bass player in the modern jazz field. As “one of the most interesting characters of the Danish jazz scene” (Gaffa) he has released several albums as a bandleader with Danish and international musicians such as Oskar Gudjonsson (IS), Rudi Mahall (DE), Kasper Tranberg (DK), Ra-Kalam Bob Moses (US), Tony Malaby (US) and Bill McHenry (US).
