Are you looking for a powerful and immersive way to express yourself and connect with others?Experience the energy, rhythm, and presence of Japanese Taiko drumming in this hands-on workshop inspired by Hachijo-style taiko and traditional shared drumming, where two people play one drum together.
This dynamic practice combines physical movement, attentive listening, and personal expression — inviting you to explore both your own rhythm and the rhythm you create together with others.
> About the workshop
Discover the expressive world of Japanese taiko through guided exercises that focus on two essential aspects of the practice:
• Listening deeply to your partner
• Expressing your own rhythm through solo playing
Hachijo-style taiko is known for its freedom of movement and individuality, while shared drumming traditions emphasize communication, timing, and connection. By combining these approaches, the workshop offers a unique experience of taiko as both a personal and relational practice.
*No prior experience is required.
Through simple rhythms, movement, and group exercises, participants will experience how sound, body, and presence come together — creating rhythm not alone, but with others.
