About this Event
Taije Silverman and Maya Pindyck read from their new poetry books, Now You Can Join
the Others (LSU Press, 2022) and Impossible Belonging (Anhinga Press, 2023), both
collections exploring how history infiltrates and resists cultural belonging.
With very different voices, both books investigate how we lay and give up claim to
identities shaped by sexism, feminism, whiteness, racism, motherhood, the Holocaust,
Israel and Palestine, and myth.
