An Evening of Elizabethan Melancholy: A Tribute to John DowlandThe Chamber Music Society of Colombo (CMSC) presents a poignant tribute commemorating the 400th death anniversary of the English Renaissance master, John Dowland.
On June 14th (Sunday) at 7:00 pm, the Goethe-Institute Hall will resonate with Dowland’s hauntingly beautiful madrigals and consorts, alongside the inventive string concertos of Telemann. Led by artistic director Lakshman Joseph-de Saram, principal members of the CMSC and the Colombo Philharmonic Choir will guide audiences through an intimate exploration of Lachrimae and timeless Renaissance sorrow.
