TAFE Queensland - 2022 Far North Queensland Graduation Ceremony (Cairns)

It's almost time to Graduate!

TAFE Queensland is proud of the effort you have put into completing your studies and we can’t wait to help you celebrate.

To ensure that you are fully prepared for Graduation day please read the important information below which covers;  Eligibility, Attire, Caps and Gowns, Receiving your qualification, Travel and Refunds.

Tickets are on sale until Tuesday 15 November 2022 at 11.59pm or until sold out.

Guests

Due to demand and venue capacity each graduate can now only purchase a maximum of two guest tickets.

Eligibility - If in doubt, register to graduate! 

If you are currently studying a Certificate III, Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma course and have registered, but you are not eligible to graduate we will advise you of this and you will receive a full refund. If you have not registered by close of ticket sales, you will not be able to participate in the Graduation Ceremony. 

You will need to contact your teacher if you have any queries about your eligibility. If you have not completed your qualification in time to graduate, your application will be withdrawn, you will be refunded in full  and you will then need to apply to graduate at the next ceremony.

When you purchase your tickets, if you are participating in the ceremony (you want to wear a gown and walk across the stage to receive a certificate) you must register as a graduate. If you register as a guest, you will not be participating in the ceremony.

Attire

Please wear neat, smart casual clothing and sensible shoes.

Caps and Gowns

All students are required to wear a cap and gown if they are participating in the graduation ceremonies. On your Eventbrite application to graduate, please specify your gown size.

On the day of the event, you will pick up your cap and gown at the venue an hour before the ceremony. Gowns must be returned after the ceremony or you will be charged.

You will be allowed to keep the tassel off of your cap.

Receiving Your Qualification

At the graduation ceremony, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement for photography purposes. You will receive your formal qualification in the mail within 30 days of completing your course. Please ensure that your postal address in our system is current.

Travel

If travel is required for you to attend the graduation ceremony, please note this will be at your own expense. 

Refunds

If you have a family emergency or extenuating circumstances and are no longer able to attend the graduation, this will be assessed on a case by case basis. Additionally, if you aren’t eligible to graduate, your teacher will advise you of this and you will receive a full refund.  Refunds are otherwise not available.
