Tactile Finissage ✿ Live Performance by Kazuhisa Uchihashi

The evening will feature a live performance by Osaka-born, Berlin-based musician Kazuhisa Uchihashi — guitarist, daxophonist, composer, and one of the key figures of Japanese improvised music.

Active internationally since the 1980s, Uchihashi-san has collaborated with artists including Fred Frith, Derek Bailey, Christian Marclay, Haruomi Hosono, UA, Ichiko Aoba and many others. Beyond music, his work spans theatre, dance, and film, including over 30 years as music director of the legendary theatre company Ishinha.

Alongside guitar, he performs on the daxophone — a rare wooden instrument invented by Hans Reichel, capable of producing an uncanny range of sounds: from delicate resonances to voice-like and animal-like tones.

Rather than a concert in the traditional sense, this evening is imagined as a close listening experience within the intimate atmosphere of Kissabō.
