Tacoma Election Debate

Join Tacoma Rising and Tacoma Business Council for the Tacoma Election Debate, a dynamic forum featuring the finalists for Tacoma’s Mayoral race—John Hines and Anders Ibsen—and the finalists for City Council Position 6—Latasha Palmer and Jessica Johnston.

This live, in-person event at Lincoln High School Auditorium will give the community a chance to hear from candidates shaping Tacoma’s future. The evening will explore both political and business topics, offering clear perspectives on leadership priorities, neighborhood issues, and plans for Tacoma’s economic growth. Expect candid insights, actionable ideas, and meaningful dialogue on the issues that matter most.

Tickets are $20 per person, and refreshments will be provided.

Event Schedule

• 4:30 PM – Doors Open | Arrive early to check in, grab refreshments, and network with community members and business leaders before the debates begin.
• 5:00 – 6:00 PM – Position 6 Council Debate | Hear directly from Latasha Palmer and Jessica Johnston as they share their visions for Tacoma’s neighborhoods, infrastructure, and community development.
• 6:00 – 6:15 PM – Break | Take a short intermission to connect with attendees and prepare for the mayoral debate.
• 6:15 – 7:30 PM – Mayoral Debate | John Hines and Anders Ibsen will take the stage to discuss leadership priorities, political issues, and plans for Tacoma’s business community and economic future.
• 7:30 PM – Event End | A closing opportunity to reflect on the evening’s conversations and connect with peers as Tacoma looks toward its next chapter.
