Tacoma Coop Culture Night! (Coop Ecosystem and Homecare Worker Coops!)
About this Event
Tacoma Coop Culture Night!
Come socialize, learn, and network around the cooperative economy in Tacoma, and help build local cooperative identity in our community. This month we are learning about the Tacoma Cooperative Economy and Homecare Cooperatives!
Exploring The Tacoma Cooperative Economy: Join Kaleb Hoeffgen of the Northwest Cooperative Development Center and learn about the fundamentals of the Tacoma Cooperative Economy and Ecosystem. Learn how you can participate and encourage the growth of an economy that works for all in Grit City!
Building Homecare Worker Coops in Tacoma: Homecare co-operatives – licensed homecare agencies owned by the caregivers – offer a solution to the growing demand for quality care for elders and the growing demand for better pay and working conditions for caregivers in Tacoma and Pierce County. Join Nora Edge, an NWCDC Cooperative Developer and founding member of Capital Homecare Co-op of Olympia to learn how caregivers in 6 communities around the state – from twenty-year-old Circle of Life Co-op in Bellingham to almost-open Mariposa Homecare Co-op in Yakima –have started their own homecare co-ops and are thriving today.
