Zion Lutheran Church is hosting Mark Charles and his Common Memory Tour as he will speak about "Thanksgiving and the Native American Perspective".
Zion's "Table Talk" events are meant to provide community engagement around topics that impact our call to be peace makers. This will be an opportunity to acknowledge our common history and find ways to build a just and equitable community.
This event will feature keynote speaker Mark Charles who will discuss the history of Native Americans and the mythology of Thanksgiving. Mark Charles is a well known speaker, writer, and consultant. Please see the attached letter for more information about our speaker.
We are inviting non-profits, businesses, agencies and community leaders to consider bringing a group form their work, agency, house of worship or family to consider what it really means to consider communal gratitude. This event is free and there is no need to register ahead of time.
