It might be difficult for some older heads to wrap their minds around, but the present crop of artists literally do not remember a world without drum 'n' bass in it. They’re coming at this with a whole different view on the music compared to previous generations. They're synthesising their style from a different set of influences and a different backstory—creating something brand new in the process.
None more so than the innovative DJ and producer, T95.
Having discovered DnB in his early teens through Chase & Status’ seminal album No More Idols, this music has been a constant companion ever since—and his passion only intensified from there. That passion came to a head at uni, when his mates Kanine and Klinical—now DnB household names in their own right—introduced him to production. And thus, the T95 story began.
Starting out experimenting with Playaz-influenced jump-up, T95 had an Outlook Festival-based epiphany that expanded his palette toward deeper sounds, inspired by labels like Shogun Audio and Overview Music. Ever since, he's been an assiduous student of all flavours of drum 'n' bass.
Even just six years into his production career, T95 already boasts a strong discography, including releases on Hospital, Elevate, DNB Allstars, Shogun, Playaz, NuForm, and Gradient Records. It’s clear T95 is entering his prime. As a producer, he’s at the forefront of the current trend—delivering both heavy and vocal-led tracks, with artists like Emily Makis, DRS, Degs, Harry Shotta, Dread MC, and Duskee already gracing his beats.
And there’s a lot more to come.
As a selector, T95 can draw from his personal dub stash and his deep knowledge of various styles and subgenres. Whether taking ravers on an intense journey through layered vibes or unleashing pure screwface savagery, he’s equipped to blow the roof off.
T95 represents the very essence of contemporary drum 'n' bass—creating music that may well typify and define the current scene. So don’t sleep on him. As his name rises on the flyer, just be thankful you paid heed and spotted the T95 talent early doors.
