T-Shirt Transformation Workshop

Got a bunch of old t-shirts that you no longer wear? Maybe they don’t fit anymore or need a little pizzazz? Join STITCH AND DESTROY for their second workshop- T-Shirt Transformation!

Inspired by the DIY book Generation T: 108 Ways to Transform a T-Shirt by Megan Nicolay, STITCH AND DESTROY owners Haven and Corey will guide you through various methods to transform your t-shirt into a new tank top, halter, split tee, bag and more! We will also provide t-shirt scraps, fabric markers, safety pins and embroidery thread to decorate your new looks.

This is a choose your own adventure workshop! We will have many examples to guide you to make your own unique t-shirt wardrobe. Access to sewing machines will be available as well as assistance in using them. All levels are welcome! This workshop is open to folks 18+.

Please bring 3-6 t-shirts that you would like to transform! The more variety the better!

Space is limited in our studio- we are able to accommodate 8 attendees. Sign up now to secure your spot!

Location and Accessibility:

This workshop meets in-person for 2 hours.

STITCH AND DESTROY is located right off of South Street on 4th St in Philadelphia. Our address is 523 S 4th St. Philadelphia, PA 19147.

There is limited metered street parking on our block and in this area it can be difficult to find parking. We suggest taking public transportation- Bus 40, 57, 12, 47, 42 and 21 are nearby. The Market-Frankford Line 5th St stop is 7 blocks away. The Broad Street Line Lombard-South stop is 10 blocks away.

Please arrive on time so that the workshop can begin at 6pm.

We do have a bathroom available to attendees. There are multiple steps to get to the bathroom so, unfortunately, this is not wheelchair accessible. The studio/workshop space is up 4 steps of stairs but we can accommodate and move the tables we will be working at for this workshop to the “first floor”. Please let us know if you would like the workshop to take place in our “first floor” store area. There is a ramp to enter our store but because of how the building was made, there is a sharp turn when entering. Email [email protected] with any questions.

Workshop Policy:

Ticket refunds are available through eventbrite 7 days before the workshop. Please request refunds through eventbrite or email [email protected]. Please be mindful that space is limited in our small studio and there is a waitlist. Ticket processing fees are non-refundable.

In the event that STITCH AND DESTROY cancels this workshop, an alternate date will be chosen and ticket refunds will be available to all that are unable to attend the alternate date.
