ABOUT THE BAND:
Marie-Isabelle "T Marie" Evangeline Pautz grew up in Lafayette Louisiana, speaking Louisiana French and learning Louisiana Folkways from her grandparents, who lived across the street from her. Her great grandfather and grandfather had been cajun fiddlers and farmers in Evangeline Parish, Louisiana and her mother was part of the movement to preserve and continue Louisiana French dialects. After a foot injury kicked her off the dancefloor, T Marie picked up the fiddle to carry on the family tradition .... which then led to the launch of T Marie and Bayou Juju, Dance Workshops, and the Louisiana Cultures Camp Festival. Today you can find her playing the same fiddle that her great grandfather and grandfather played before her.
Adam Bellard grew up immersed in the sounds of Louisiana - swamp pop on the radio in MawMaw’s kitchen, high-stepping marching bands at the football game, funky blues in the less than legal juke joint... but it took a move away from home to make him realize that all he needed in life is hot boudin and good Cajun music. Now he gets both playing guitar and accordion.
Kit Garovoy currently hails from the Bayous of mid-coast Maine. Kit has played percussion since grammar school, studied at the Hart School of music, and taught percussion in Maine and Connecticut. He fell in love with Cajun music in the early 90’s performing with the Maine based Cajun band JimmyJo and the Jumbol’Ayuhs. Kit's experience with Cajun music spans 20 years including regular performances with Jesse Lege, Drew Simon, The Savoy Doucette Band, The Savoy Family Band, The Pine Leaf Trio, BeauSoleil, and more!
Noah Harrington is a Boston Native. Noah studied performance at Berklee School of music and has performed with Jazz, Brazilian, Pop, Rock, Country, Bluegrass, Cajun, and Old-time ensembles.

ABOUT THE DANCE WORKSHOP:
T Marie inherited her love of Louisiana Dance from her Momon Rose, who was famous for casting aside her walker and hitting the dance floor up to the age of 100! T Marie first learned to dance at 17 by sneaking into Louisiana dancehalls as an underaged college student. She brings to the table years of experience dancing at festivals, dancehalls, and dive bars, years of experience as an educator. As a member of the Louisiana Cultures Camp Festival leadership team, she also brings to the table unique learnings from Dance Traditions from Louisiana's Creole, Cajun, Afro-Diasporic, Indigenous, Latin, and Asian, and European ancestries.

This dance workshop will have a little something for everyone! Whether you're an experienced dancer... or just getting started...We'll explore:
1) The Cultural Roots and Intercultural Connections of Louisiana Dance
2) Rhythms and styles across Louisiana Dance
3) Partner Dancing
4) the many styles of Louisiana Dance: Waltz, Two-Step, Jig, Line Dancing, Zydeco, etc.
