Syracuse Actors Studio 31: Strasberg Method with Jennie Russo

Join us for the 31st session of the Syracuse Actors Studio on Monday, September 21st, 2026, 7 pm - 10 pm, to learn about Lee Strasberg's Actors Studio in NYC which gave birth to the famous Strasberg Method and students such as Marilyn Monroe, Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro, Marlon Brando, James Dean, Dustin Hoffman, Lady Gaga, Laura Dern, and Angelina Jolie - to name a few!
Come learn from our own Jennie Russo what the method is all about through instruction, performance, and exercise.
We will also have time for volunteer actors to perform! Right now, we have a scene by John Triana & Laura Stisser, as well as monologues by Jay Merante, Dave Spiro, & Jalan Barber! We are looking for one or two more. If interested in doing a monologue or scene, contact Joe Cunningham at [email protected] and send a headshot (doesn’t have to be a pro one) for marketing purposes. Monologues should be no more than 3 minutes and, if possible, memorized; scenes can be longer. We hope to be able to give feedback to our performers after each as well.

SAS is open to actors of all levels and backgrounds; whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, you are welcome to come and participate or observe. There is no barrier of entry.
At the end of the session, we will have time for announcements if anyone wants to plug a show, announce casting, or the like.

Syracuse Actors Studio is always a free monthly meetup for actors where we learn from and practice acting with each other. Actors of all experience levels are encouraged to attend! Filmmakers, writers, playwrights, producers, casting agents, and observers are also welcome.SAS is open to all. We ask that actors under 18 be accompanied by a parent or guardian for safety purposes. We also note to parents/guardians that some performances or material may have adult language or subject matter.
