What does your body sound like?
Can we hear the signals our bodies constantly produce? Do these signals differ from person to person? And what happens when we turn them into sound?
In Syntax of the Pulse, the Reactive Ensemble explores the creative potential of biofeedback technology. Using custom-built sensors, electrical activity in the body is captured and transformed in real time into sound, light, and video, making normally invisible processes audible and visible.
The evening begins as an open experimental sound lab where visitors can try out the sensors and listen to their own bioelectrical signals. The project invites participants to experience the body as a source of sound and to explore how technologies usually associated with science and medicine can become tools for artistic expression.
The second part of the event unfolds as a short participatory performance, bringing together live biofeedback, sound art, and contemporary music in an immersive collective experience.
